A Piano and General Music Studio in McLean, Northern Virginia
The piano studio of Thomas Sebatian Mueller incorporates music theory, sight reading, ear training, ensemble-and-duet playing into private piano lessons for the intermediate and the advanced. Mr. Mueller also designs group music classes for younger children who are not ready yet for individualized piano instruction. Mr. Mueller accepts all ages and skill levels and customizes lesson content and homework assignments to students’ skill levels, ages, and musical interests. Parents of young beginners participate in lessons using the various hand drums, xylophones and other percussion instruments designed for early childhood education.
The Instructor
Thomas was born and raised in Koenigswinter, Germany. He began his music education at age six through formal piano lessons. At age ten he began composing for piano and for orchestra. After graduating from High School in Germany he moved to McLean and enrolled in George Mason University’s piano program, from which he received his Bachelor of Arts. He has been teaching as a private piano instructor throughout Northern Virginia since 2005. His students have ranged from ages 4 to 60 and have been of all experience and talent levels. Because of his special interest in free, artistic and injury-preventive technique, he has trained in professor Lister-Sink’s (Salem College, North Carolina) renowned injury-preventive workshop. He is fluent in English, Spanish and German and can teach lessons in these languages.
